Daily Fantasy MLB Value/Overrated Picks for April 18th

A full allotment of games are once again set to go on Hump Day’s MLB slate with a couple matinee match-ups.

Value is the name of the daily fantasy game, and here’s a look at some players that either fit the bill or don’t for today’s slate.

“VALUE PICKS FOR WEDNESDAY MLB”

Raul Ibanez (DraftStreet: $8,163 | FanDuel: $3700) will more or less be installed into the Yankees DH slot whenever their opposed by a right-handed starting pitcher. That will exactly be the case this evening when the Twins trot out gas can Jason Marquis to the starting bump for his 2012 debut. He’s coming off an injury shortened campaign and could be on a pitch count here; provided he gets enough work in against NY’s unforgiving righty mashing line-up.

With enough ducks on the pond, Ibanez could put some crooked numbers on the board here considering he’s 8-for-22 lifetime (.364) with 2 HR & 8 RBI vs. Marquis. Pair that output with a discounted price, and you got a must add to your daily fantasy baseball roster for tonight!

The Pirates have been reluctant to start Casey McGehee whenever they’ve been opposed by starting righties, but Manager Clint Hurdle would be wise to install him into the line-up this afternoon regardless. Reason being; Daniel Hudson has gotten out to a shaky start to his 2012 campaign and McGehee is perfect against him in his career going 5-for-5 with a HR, double, and an RBI. Considering the Buccos have tallied just five ERs the L/3 times they opposed the righty, they should look to add offense against him any way possible.

“NOT WORTH THE PRICE TAG”

Dan Uggla (Get $10 FREE at DRAFTSTREET) has once again gotten off to a wretched start for the Braves as he’s managed only eight hits in 38 at-bats (.211) and failed to leave the yard once while striking out 10 times.

Daily fantasy sites still haven’t downgraded his salary, and he’s still currently demanding Top 10 2B money; that’s just not simply the case! Making that price tag all the more a joke for today’s game is the fact that he’s failed to scratch out a single hit in 23 at-bats versus Mets knuckleballer R.A. Dickey. Stay away from him here at all costs!
