For years and years, Peyton Manning terrorized the Denver Broncos in the NFL playoffs when he was with the Indianapolis Colts. The roles have reversed now though, as Manning takes on his protégé, Andrew Luck in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs as TD favorites on Sunday.
COLTS – BRONCOS POINT SPREAD PLAYOFF GAME 2015:
The best thing that the Colts have on their side is that Denver has exactly one victory over a playoff team since Week 1 of the season, and it is 1-3 SU and ATS in those games. The one win came against the Arizona Cardinals when they were forced to use their third-string quarterback for first time this season.
2. Why the BRONCOS will cover the spread: The big issue that we have is that Luck has never really had that one game in his career where he transcended into the next level of quarterbacks. He has had just one playoff game in which he hasn’t been picked off, and he has just one playoff game with more than one touchdown pass. The Indianapolis running game is in shambles, and its defense probably isn’t ready to play against an offense like this.
Denver has had a week to get a little bit healthier, and it should be able to do just that. Manning hasn’t had the best playoff career, but time and time again, he has performed well at this stage. Sure, we all remember his last postseason game in the Super Bowl, but we should also remember all of those awesome 40+ point performances as well that he is so capable of.

3. Total Talk COLTS/BRONCOS: Eight of the last nine meetings between these two teams, including three playoff games, have gone OVER the ‘total’. That includes Week 1’s 31-24 Denver win, one which barely got past the ‘total’ by just a couple points. However, it should be noted that five straight Colts games have gone UNDERbetv, and in each of the five, they scored 27 points or fewer.
4. Betting Trends for COLTS/BRONCOS: In spite of that, Indianapolis is 4-2-1 ATS in its last seven games overall, including earning the cover last week against Cincinnati in the opening round of the playoffs. The Colts are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games against the Broncos. Denver hasn’t covered back-to-back games since October, going 0-4 ATS in its last four games following an ATS victory. This might not be an exception.
