FanDuel $10,000 NBA Contest Tonight: 5 “Must Start” Players

Well, it’s about time. The NBA is finally giving us a slate with some meat on its bones. Are you ready for some basketball? I sure hope so because we’ve got 13 games tonight. Within those 13 games are some great value plays for tonight that will help you cash in. Here are your plays for tonight.

Mike Conley PG Memphis Grizzlies (Draft for $6,400 on FanDuel Today) – By starting Conley you are getting somewhat of “The Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde Show”. The value for the dollar is always there, don’t get me wrong. Conley is somewhat like a box of Cracker Jack. You know the surprise will fall into three categories. Very good, good and well, not so good. For tonight I’ll be banking on ‘very good’ from Mike (Seeing that his last game falls under ‘not so good’) and after some rest should bounce-back very nicely here. Plus, you can’t beat his price.

Projection: 16 pts / 8 ast / 6 reb / 1 blk / 4 stl

O.J. Mayo SG Dallas Mavericks (Draft for $7,200 on FanDuel Today) – I will personally be tuning into this game between the Mavericks and the Celtics. Why? Oh , that’s easy. I have been anticipating this match-up for the sole purpose of watching Mayo have one of the best games of this still young season. I am also looking forward to seeing ‘Mr. Inconsistent’ aka Jason Terry try to slow down Mayo. It won’t happen Also, O.J. is coming off of another great outing on Monday night against the Kings we he scored 19 points, 4 assists, 7 rebounds and 1 steal. Please keep in mind that O.J. got ‘rested’ towards the end of the game once it was in the blow-out stage. After a little rest Mayo can be dangerous. You want to start him when he’s dangerous and he is rested. Will the Celtics hold the Mayo? Not likely.

Projection: 26 pts / 7 ast / 8 reb / 2 stl

$10,000 NBA Contest Tonight!

John Salmons SF Sacramento Kings (Draft for $4,100 on FanDuel Today) – There’s really no excuse for Salmons not to take the reins with the opportunity that’s been given him. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not dogging the guy (Otherwise he would never be found recommended in this column) but he just seems unsure of himself at times. However, there are other times when it’s just the opposite. I watched Salmons the other night and he floored me. I watched him score 19 points and added in 11 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals against the Blazers. You could see his confidence clearly. I’m looking for somewhat of the same outcome that he had against Portland here.Note: Sorry about the Dr. Phil insight into Salmons mind but we need every edge we can get.

Projection: 17 pts / 4 ast / 11 reb / 1 blk / 2 stl

Thaddeus Young PF Philadelphia 76ers (Draft for $6,900 on FanDuel Today) – If you are looking for (and who isn’t) the best valued player tonight at the PF position then you have found your starter in Young. Thaddeus has been filling the stat sheet constantly, almost on a daily basis. His price is at the mid-tier player range which personally is a joke. Young can get you , maybe not ‘beast’ numbers but he can come close and that’s on any given night. For a high-valued option and the most bang for your buck, then you need Young tonight. He will not disappoint.

Projection: 23 pts / 2 ast / 8 reb / 1 blk / 4 stl

Omer Asik C Houston Rockets (Draft for $6,200 on FanDuel Today) – There’s something about NBA players that are recovering from any flu-type symptoms. Their first few starts back after recovery, for whatever reason they go into a type of ‘beast-mode’. Well, that point was proven once again the other day as Omer’s first game back from his bout with the flu and drilled the Spurs to the tune of 21 points, 2 assists, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal. Omer is back in the swing of things and will once again (get ready) put up ‘Asik’ stat line tonight due to the fact that he isn’t ‘Asik’ any longer (I’ve got a million of ‘em folks).

Projection: 17 pts / 3 ast / 17 reb / 1 blk / 1 stl
