4* (963/964) CUBS/LA DODGERS OVER the total

We pick up the card out on the west coast with Chicago trying to upend the Dodgers who cashed the first two games in series, 5-3 was the Friday result.  Last night all 8 runs were scored in the first five innings, but lefty Hill of got it together for the win.  This evening we have two strong side hurlers matching up with Chicago’s Darvish (2-3, 4.88) going against Buehler (7-1, 3.35) of LA.  The series has shot OVER 5 straight at Los Angeles.   The Cubs are +61 and the Dodgers +111 in the run differential category which helps.   Also, Chicago is averaging 5.56 runs per game on the road, LA shows 5.71 runs at home.  Oddly, the Cubs have shot OVER the last five battles against a hurler with under a .115 WHIP and 11-3 OVER in road games versus a winning home unit at .600+ L14.  And, with Darvish throwing they bring 4-1 OVER record L5 after allowing 5 or more runs in their last game. In his last assignment at home he surrendered 2 two-run homers against the Rockies.  Los Angeles ties this down with a 6-0 OVER record against the Central and 3-0-1 OVER with Buehler facing a winning unit, not to mention a super overall record of 11-3-2 OVER against >.500 units.  Good Luck.

4* Houston -1-1/2 Runs (970) over Toronto

Our runs line edition looks to the Astros who just took out the Blue Jays easily on Friday evening to start the series.  Toronto (25-44) uses lefty Richard (0-2, 7.04) who is 0-2 his last three starts carrying 11-1/3 innings with a hefty 8.74 ERA.  Adding more misery Toronto brings an 0-5 L5 versus winning units and an 0-6 brand of baseball in Saturday calls.  To make matters worse umpire Cooper is behind the plate with the Jays showing 1-4 on Saturday’s.  We know Toronto has fared well lately against lefties, but so has the Astros at home.  Overall Houston is a solid 35-16 challenging port side hurlers L51 times out.  Lefty Valdez (2-2, 2.73) for Houston is off his first insert as a starter pitching 7 solid innings at Baltimore giving up just 1 earned run and 5 hits.  As a team the Jays are hitting .230 and the Astros .270 against lefties.  From the slugging percentage, the Jays are at .380, while Houston has a more respectful .473 BA.  From the run differential angle the Jays show a miserable -86 versus Houston’s + 109 on the season.  Since we have key major variances in the numbers, use the run line and win again.  Good Luck.

4* TAMPA BAY (966) over Los Angeles Angels

The Rays (42-27) rebounded with a game #2 series win 9-4 over the Angels (34-36) after their attack was slow to chase lefty Heaney.  The victory broke a three-game losing streak for the home unit.  Saturday in the earliest of starts, the visiting Angels bring young lefty Jose Suarez (1-1, 4.35) to the hill in only his third start of the campaign.  Last time out the hurler threw only 4-2/3 innings against Seattle allowing 2 earned runs coupled with six strikeouts. Also, recall LA has a team 4.96 ERA (#26). The Angels are an aggressive hitting unit which filters in with the total going from 8-8-1/2 early. However impressive right-hander Morton (8-0, 2.10) goes for Tampa Bay with a 4-0 L4 starts and a 1.00 ERA. Prior to the recent winning streak, Morton experienced a horrible outing, the worst of the season against the Yankees.  In lifetime starts the hurler has a 2-0 record with a 3.04 ERA challenging the Angels.  He has thrown 81-1/3 innings allowing just 51 hits this season (only 4 home runs).  In the series, the Angels have fallen to a 1-6 L7 games when in Florida and 14-38 L52 on the road when playing a winning home unit.  Tampa looking to improve their recent home mark shows 16-5 against American League West and 45-19 against losing teams. We’re on the Rays this afternoon, so go live and win again.  Good Luck.

5* Kansas City/Minnesota OVER the total

Just missed here yesterday as each staggered runners from 2nd base on, as it should have gone high.  Junis goes for Kansas City and he does have talent, however, in his starts since May 1st (TB) he has rotated every other outing with issues inside the long-ball.  Junis just threw a solid 7 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs with 2 home runs.  In the prior starts against Boston (0), Texas (2) New York (0) LAA (2) Philly (0) and Houston (3) he allowed 7 home runs, that's 9 the last 8 to the mound.  In essence, I can't trust Junis to circumvent the Twins solid attack.  Lefty Perez (7-2, 3.97) of the Twins has been fairly consistent and shows well when off five days of rest.  Minnesota's support for the hurler, although, erases the "low" mindset as they show 4-0 OVER L4 with the lefty.  In fact, over Perez' last ten starts the Twins have averaged 7.8 runs per game.  Also, they bring a super 5-0-2 L7 OVER when their opponent allows 5 or more runs.  The Twins are recent 3-0-1 L4 OVER in game #3 of a series and 7-1-2 OVER L10 times out. Kansas City shows with an OVER conscious too, as when using Junis in the box they are 6-1 L7 game #3 starts and 6-2-1 L9 with four days off, not to ignore the 7-3-1 L11 road starts overall.  That's a monster 19-6-2 OVER attached to Junis.  With the series going 37-17-4 of late, go HIGH Sunday.  Good Luck.

Baseball Runs Lines Game of the Week

Houston (Valdez) cashed yesterday with a 7-2 win over Toronto (25-45) and Richard.  In the Sunday closer the Blue Jays bring Trent Thornton (1- 5, 4.78), while Houston (48-23) challenges with talented hurler Brad Peacock (6-3, 3.42).  The Astros play with a 41-12 record at home against
