To think that we are already in Week 5 of the college football season is amazing. Time flies when it comes to football season. The Heisman Trophy race is taking shape, and it may not be the players we all thought at the beginning of the season.
The current leader is Tua Tagovailoa on DraftKings Sportsbook at +250, and Tagovailoa also leads on FanDuel Sportsbook at +300. Quarterbacks Jalen Hurts and Joe Burrow are right behind Tua on both books, respectively.
Here is a look at the current Heisman Trophy Odds at DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook, the odds at each book, and which book is better for bettors.
Keep in mind, +300 is better for bettors than +250, as you get more for your bet at the same time. This is a key part of betting with multiple books as options.
Let’s take a look at the current odds at both FanDuel and DraftKings, updated for Week 5 of College Football.

Key Heisman Odds Movers
Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
For the first time this season, there is a running back that has moved his way into legitimate consideration for the Heisman Trophy. Taylor moved from +1600 on both books to +800 on both.
So far this season, the Wisconsin running back has 10 total touchdowns on 64 touches, and has 510 total yards in three games. His recent performance of 23 carries for 203 yards and two scores in Wisconsin’s 35-14 win over #11 Michigan propelled him up the boards.
Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
Clemson is 4-0, and well on their way to another college football playoff. But, you could argue it’s not due to the play of Lawrence, who has struggled this season. He has 925 yards and seven scores in four games, and has been intercepted five times already. Considering Clemson has played Charlotte, Syracuse, Texas A&M and Georgia Tech, most expected him to have 10+ touchdowns, well over 1100 yards passing, and certainly not more INTs than he threw all of last year.
Lawrence Heisman Odds fell from +700 on both books to +2500 on FanDuel and +2000 on DraftKings. It doesn’t look like it is going to happen for the Clemson quarterback this year.
Players to Watch
Bo Nix, QB, Auburn
Nix is quickly climbing the leaderboards, and is this week’s player to watch. Nix moved from +8000 to +5000 on FanDuel Sportsbook and a massive +25000 to +10000 move on DraftKings Sportsbook.
So far this season, Nix has six touchdowns in four games, and just over 750 total yards. It’s not something to write home about, but the odds moving more and more combined with Auburn’s upcoming schedule is something to keep an eye on.
The Tigers continue SEC play this week after beating Texas A&M, and now play Mississippi State, Florida, Arkansas, and LSU before going back home to face Ole Miss and Georgia.
Nix is our player to watch because of this schedule. If Nix can propel Auburn to a few wins and play well in this stretch, expect to see the Heisman Trophy odds for the freshman continue to rise.
