heisman odds 2019

Week 7 will be one of the best weeks of college football action this season.

– The Red River Showdown
– LSU vs. Florida
– Alabama vs. Texas A&M
– Clemson vs. Florida State and more.

This also means a lot of Heisman hopefuls will be in action against terrific competition. That is what drives the Heisman Trophy race!

Tua Tagovailoa comes in at +150 on DraftKings Sportsbook, the clear favorite. Joe Burrow is now number two behind him at +300. On FanDuel Sportsbook, Tagovailoa comes in at +140, but second is Jalen Hurts at +430.

Here is a look at the current Heisman Odds at DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook, the odds at each book, and which book is better for bettors.

Keep in mind, +300 is better for bettors than +250, as you get more for your bet at the same time. This is a key part of betting with multiple books as options.

Let’s take a look at the current odds at both FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook, updated for Week 7 of College Football.

Key Heisman Movers

Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

Justin Fields’ odds on DraftKings Sportsbook fell from +500 to +1000 this week, dropping him from the close quarterback race.

Why? It’s not entirely clear, but Fields did not light the world on fire in Week 6 against Michigan State. He only threw for 206 yards and two scores while rushing for 61 and a score.

While that looks like a good game on the surface, with the other quarterbacks putting up “video game numbers”, Fields will need some big ones to get back in the race. Luckily, he has Northwestern, Wisconsin, Maryland, and Rutgers in the next four weeks. If you want to bet on him, now is a good time.

Bo Nix, QB, Auburn

+6000 on FD, +10000 on DK to +9500 on FD and +25000 on DK

Nix’ stock rose entering last week after a masterful performance in Week 5 against Mississippi State, but he played quite poorly last week against the Florida Gators in a 24-13 loss at the Swamp.

Nix completed just 11 of his 27 passes for 145 yards and a score, and he threw three interceptions. He ran for just 18 yards on 10 carries. This game effectively removes him from the race for now. Given his early-season stats and this poor performance against a top 10 team, Nix is not worth a bet at this time, regardless of price.

Five Man Heisman Race?

In Week 7, it seems like it is just a five-man race now.

1. Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
2. Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma
3. Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
4. Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
5. Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin

With Joe Burrow rising quickly up the charts, it looks more and more likely to be finalists of Tua, Hurts, and Burrow. Who should you bet on of the three?

Tagovailoa is the big favorite right now, but if LSU continues to win football games and Burrow continues his pace he will be right there. Hurts’ odds have fallen a bit, but he will continue to have boastful numbers in Lincoln Riley’s offense.

Burrow has a very tough test this weekend against the Florida Gators, Jalen Hurts has Texas, and Tua Tagovailoa has the Texas A&M defense ahead of him. Tua has the best matchup, but this will be a key week for the Heisman race. If Burrow puts up huge numbers in a win, he will rise and likely pass Hurts. But, if Hurts does the same against Texas…we will have a three-horse race.

Enjoy college football this weekend, as it should not disappoint.
